Saturday, September 6th: Wake up early, meet at Denfert Rochereau metro stop at 7:30am, wear comfy shoes, bring your bathing suit if you’re brave… CEA Paris’ Escapade Mystère destination was kept a secret until the very last minute, when students boarded the buses… While the Parisians enjoyed their first weekend back in the city after the famous rentrée (back to school), Fall 14 students headed to the la côte (the coast)! Just two and a half hours north of Paris lies the town of Honfleur, a lovely little fishing village in Normandy, land of camembert, les pommes, du cidre, des tartes et la crème normande and of course, fruits de mer a-go-go! Greniers à sel (salt barns), le Vieux Port (the old port), le marché Sainte-Catherine (the farmer’s market), le Mont Joli viewpoint, Notre Dame de Grace chapel, le pont de Normandie (the Normandy bridge)…it was a day of discovery and Normand gastronomy, and their first excursion of Fall 2014. The famous slate-covered houses that line the Vieux Port, and Fall 14 students ready to discover Honfleur Pit stop at Marché Sainte-Catherine for FROMAGE!
